Description of the artist

Wim Wenders is considered one of the most influential directors of German auteur cinema. For In Far Away, So Close! (1993), the sequel to Wings of Desire (1987), Wenders received the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes in 1993. His other most successful films include Paris, Texas (1984), The Far Side of the World (1991), Buena Vista Social Club (1999), and The Million Dollar Hotel (2000). Wenders is also a passionate photographer with a talent for combining different art forms and creating new worlds.
